Notes that the approcess of urban development needs to be balanced with the interests ofpriate implementation of regional development policy requires a balance between measures relating to urban areas and to suburban areas, and closelythe coordinated with support for rural developmention of those measures with action for rural areas and reiterates the fact that rural development policy has significant spatial impact and that there is insufficient integration of urban and rural development policies; underlines the need for real synergy between these policies culminating in real development potential and the promotion of the attractiveness and competitiveness of rural areas.
