Stresses that associations such as the guilds (‘cofradías’) in Spain play a fundamental role in achieving the objectives of this Strategy; calls, therefore, for the guilds to be recognised under Union law and for them to eligible to receive financial support on an equal footing with producer organisations; calls, therefore, on the European Commission to present as soon as possible a proposal for a regulation amending Regulation (EU) 1379/2013 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 11 December 2013 on the common organisation of the markets in fishery and aquaculture products.
