1. Notes that cases of undeclared work are increasing while there is free movement of workers in the internal market; considers that this is harmful to workers, public finances and the smooth operation of the internal market, given that it leads to social dumping and distortion of competition;

Urgently calls on the Member States to give up as soon as possible the transitional arrangements limiting the mobility of workers from the new Member States, as these restrictions are encouraging undeclared work, and to deal with the problem of illegal immigration in a spirit of social justice, given that illegal immigrants and women from third countries are the primary victims of undeclared work;
