Points to the crucialstrategic importance of the ports sector tofor the European Union from the economic, commercial, social, environmental and strategic points of view; economic and social development, the defence and sovereignty of each Member State and considers, therefore, that the ports should constitute public property; expresses its categorical opposition to any form of concession for any port operation to private individuals as absolutely incompatible with the public interest;
