Draws attention to the fact that the current 20% target is based on contribution made by nuclear power to the energy mix in some Member States; welcomes the Commission’s decision to subject nuclear power stations in the EU to stress testing, so that the requisite measures can be adopted to ensure their safety; believes that the decision by some Member States to shut down some existing nuclear reactors, and the increased investment in the construction of new nuclear power stations, could lead to some Member States revising the national measures adopted to achieve the current 20% target;
