A. whereas inequality is usuallysometimes approached merely as a social problem or, worse, as a social consideration, which can be harmful for good economic policy design; whereas although in some economic theories inequality concerns are set against efficiency, we on the contrary wouldsome would also argue that equality policies can help foster growth and job creation; whereas equality can, under the right conditions, be both a cause and a consequence of good economic performance;

Points out that investment creates jobs ands, under the right conditions, have the ability to stimulate job creation; points out that unemployment is obviously one of the main causes of inequality both between the employed and unemployed, but also among workers themselves; notes that it is well known; notes that high levels of unemployment exert downward pressure on wages and can, in some cases, also have a detrimental effect on working conditions;
