Stresses that adequate, reliable and high-performance infrastructure, such as ultrafast broadband and telecommunications networks, are essential for the functioning of eGovernment services and that such networks need to be improved urgently, especially in the interests of citizens living in rural, mountainous and remote areas; notes that the continuous adoption of innovative technologies, such as big data and the internet of things or the uptake of mobile services for eGovernment will be essential for keeping up with technological development;
