Recommends that scientific and technical cooperation and the protection of intellectual property be made essential elements of such agreements; stresses in particular the need to tackle counterfeiting by means of the binding instruments contained in the agreements; points out that genuine cooperation among all actors concerned will make it possible to combat counterfeiting effectively, particularly the counterfeiting of pharmaceutical products;
