(15 a) Undertakings for collective investments in transferable securities (UCITS) should be within the scope of this regulation, as the diversified investment policies of UCITS also include transactions in derivative contracts. UCITS have in recent years considerably grown and represent an estimated 50% of European GDP, having also a global systemic importance considering their significant investment capacity.
