Underlines the need to reduce agricultural subsidies in developed countries in order to allow an expansion of the agricultural sector in developing countries, which will increase productivity to the benefit of their overall economies and food security; therefore calls on the Commission to make major progress in the reform of the common agricultural policy (CAP).
