1. Urges the European Commission, when reviewing the EIA Directive and Directive 2001/42/ECG, to strictly apply the criteria for protection of landscape and natural environment when selecting sites for renewable energy sites and other facilities; the Commission should create indicators to assess their visual impact and develop the Articles in the TFEU related to the protection of cultural and natural heritage;
