Points out that, generally speaking, European competition policy is applied with the aim of systematically defending consumers at the expensefair competition between all actors on the internal market, with special emphasis on the interests of consumers; considers that interests of agricultural producers;, considumers that these two interestand European citizens should be placed on an equal footing;

Considers that interests of European citizens demanding a sustainable and environmental friendly society should be taken into account; recalls the cooperation of farmers and different entities on energy transition, animal welfare standards and climate mitigation and its friction with competition law; calls therefore on the Commission, taking into account the functioning of the single market and the benefits for the society as a whole, for exemptions from competition rules to facilitate cooperation, both horizontally and vertically, on sustainability initiatives;
