Is of the opinion that funds should be used in a more integrated way, including by means of multi-fund programmes, community-led local development, integrated territorial investments and cross- financing as referred to in Article 98(2) of the CPR and achieve synergies with other EU and national funding instruments; calls on the administrations and authorities concerned to seek active cooperation at local, regional and cross-border level;

Notes that marginalised communities often live in less favourable parts of cities; emphasises the importance of urban regeneration programmes for deprived neighbourhoods, which tackle both economic and social challenges and improve the urban environment, focusing on better transport connections and other facilities that might contribute giving these communities better access to education and hence employment;
