Where the authorities of a Member State in which a public document or its certified copy is presented have reasonable doubt as to their authenticity, which cannot be otherwise resolvedafter thorough examination, they may submit a request for information to the relevant authorities of the Member State where these documents were issued, either by using the Internal Market Information System referred in Article 8 directly, or by contacting the central authority of their Member State.
