Stresses the importance of developing and protecting the EU's competitive advantages in the area of innovative products; takes the view that a temporary freedom of movement must be made possible for the purpose of providing services, so that qualified specialist staff can be recruited and undertakings and research centres in the EU can retain their leading position in the field of innovation;

UTakes the view that the sustainable and undisrupted supply of raw materials and energy is of strategic importance for the competitiveness of the EU; underlines the significance of the energy trade and the availability of sources of energy, and the necessity of the principle of reciprocity being applied while opening up energy markets, to safeguard the interests of European consumers and the energy industry.
