Ca. whereas the promotion of women’s rights should be a basic component of the human rights dialogue between the European Union and third countries; whereas the European Instrument for Democracy and Human Rights plays a positive role; and whereas, when they engage in cooperation with any country, the European External Action Service (EEAS) and the Commission should identify in a timely manner the problems to be addressed, so that funding and resources can be better tailored to objectives;

Asks the European Union and its Member States to support full participation by women in political and economic decision making, particularly in processes of peace building, democratic transition and conflict resolution; encourages the Member States, the Commission and the EEAS to focus on the economic and political emancipation of women in developing countries, promoting their involvement in companies and in the implementation of regional projects and local development projects;
