DeplorWelcomes the fact that the European Stability Mechanism (ESM) was created on an intergovernmental basis, outside the institutional structures of the European Union, even though the euro is one of the Union prerogatives; points out that this renders decision-making under the ESM Treaty opaque, raising doubts with regard to accountability and democratic scrutiny;
