1. Stresses that racism exists in all areas of our daily life and can have many forms. Recognizes that different groups, communities and individuals are subjects of different forms of racism, xenophobia and discrimination. Each specific form of racism has distinctive features and some forms are more prominent in some Member States than in others. Reasons for such differences include historical or political factors. Acknowledges the EU anti-racism action plan; welcomes the inclusion of specific sections on education and media; calls on the Commission and Member States to follow a holistic approach and to provide adequate funding and resources to ensure the achievement of the outlined commitments;
