Calls for better policy coherence and climate and environmental proofing in the EU's funding instruments, particularly the Structural Funds and the Cohesion Fund, in order to deliver the Biodiversity 2020 and EU 2020 objectives; moreover, stresses also the possibility of synergies between the structural funds and the European agricultural fund for rural development, LIFE+ programme and the R&D framework programme; with a view to a next programming period urges for effective coordination between the 5 CSF funds in order to ensure an optimal delivery of the sustainable growth target of the Union;
