Calls for tourism to be promoted and sustained as a driver for growth and jobs in coastal areas; highlights the need to provide infrastructuretakes the view that a healthy environment is fundamental to any form of tourism in coastal regions and every effort must therefore be made to protect it; highlights the need to provide infrastructure for the development of new forms of tourism, in particular for tourism sectors with high growth potential, such as water sports; welcomes initiatives to promote crossborder tourism strategies on a sea- basin basis.
