Deplores the fact that the Commission has not so far responded appropriately to the European Parliament’s resolution of 18 November 2008 and has not started work on a legislative initiative or made wide- ranging use of the ‘European Year of Equal Opportunities for All’ (2007) to tackle the problem of unequal pay for male and female workers effectively;
