Takes the view that adequate social protection systems greatly facilitate the geographical and occupational mobility of workers and that the social inclusion of mobile workers and the social reintegration of returned workers must be included in the policy on labour mobility; underlines that, to this end, the recognition of previously acquired rights and a greater understanding of the differences between the systems of the individual Member States are indispensable and must be promoted;

Takes the view that an insufficient knowledge of languages (in particular in the case of adults) remains an important obstacle for labour mobility; calls on the Member States to actively promote foreign language teaching more forcefully and expand it in all categories of schools and on the Commission to pursue its efforts in this area;
