(xviiia) Recalls that social media and the Internet are increasingly used by European citizens as a source for news and cultural content as well as an opportunity to connect to politicians and policy makers in an interactive and collaborative manner; calls on the EU institutions to use social media and other online tools and interact more actively with citizens, for example by using programmes such as Sharing Europe; calls on the EU institutions to make available more public sector information for reuse.
