Emphasises that the EU communication policy plays a crucial role in promoting democratic life in the Union and creating better links between the Union and its citizens; reminds that the media, especially television, forms the primary source of information for European citizens; therefore urges the EU institutions to form partnerships with both public and private media in order to reach a much broader audience and improve the quality of the information provided;
