Deplores the fact that mature and well- functioning Integrated Coastal Zone Management involving all relevant levels of government is still rarely put into practice and strongly urges the Commission to ensure that the Integrated Coastal Zone Management recommendations are updated, strengthened and implemented; stresses that a common approach to maritime spatial planning, taking into account the challenges of adaptation to climate change, should be pursued as a matter of urgency in the context of the Integrated Maritime Policy;
