Stresses the need to undertake the necessary reforms in order to guarantee the sustainability of the pensions systems; bBelieves that retirement age should be linked to the evolution of life expectancy, but recalls that there is still scopmargin of manoeuvre to raise the actualeffective retirement age without raising the mandatory retirement age by reducing early exit from the labour market; bBelieves that, if actual retirement ages are to be raised successfully to successfully higher effective retirement ages, reforms in pension systems need to be accompanied by policies that develop employment opportunities for older workers' access to life-long learning, and introduce tax benefit policies giving incentives to stay longer at work, and support active healthy ageing;
