3. Notes that the recent revision of the Agency'’s founding Regulation will give it additional tasks which can be performed more cost-effectively at the European level than at national level, hence strengthening pollution prevention in the European maritime sector; points out that this will need to be reflected in the Agency'’s future funding to avoid weakening its ability to perform its existing and future tasks efficiently and effectively;
