Calls on the Commission, in carrying out the ongoing infringement procedures and the analyses of national regulations, to recognise that Member States are allowed to ensure that a fair share of the benefits of gambling are directed towards the financing of professional and grass- roots sports and the equine sector; calls for the specific features and the sustainable contributions from lotteries to society to be recognised and taken into account in any coordinated approach at EU level;
