Acknowledges the significant potential for GHG emissions reduction in the agricultural sector, highlighting, nonetheless, the lack of a comprehensive methodology to set a GHG emissions accounting system which would cover adequately different types of agriculture and its structural conditions; points out that the introduction of new emissions reduction targets in the agricultural sector must be preceded in each case by an assessment of the impact on the viability of the agricultural sector in the region concerned and must not jeopardise local and global food security;
