Underlines the need to intensify the fight against Islamist terrorism in the Southernstep up our cooperation with the countries in our neighbourhood and among the neighbours of our neighbours in order to intensify the fight against terrorism; urges the need for concerted diplomatic efforts on the part of the EU, the US and other international allies, to convince players in the region, such as Turkey, the Gulf states and Iran, of the need for a common strategy to address this global challenge; believes that these diplomatic efforts should be accompanied by the wide range of other tools and instruments at the EU’s disposal;
