Notes that the encouragement of appropriate antimicrobial use, for the purpose of raising medical awareness, depends on a change of attitude and practice among patients, farmers and practitioners in the spheres of veterinary and human medicine; considers that more effective and continuous educational and training measures should be taken at both national and European level; by also including such measures in health promotion programmes for pupils;
