Recalls that according to the Court of Auditors report from 2018, most of the national authorities did not use the information available in the Trade Control and Expert System (TRACES) to target their inspections and/or audits, in part due to existing user access restrictions; recognises that a better use of the TRACES system for the performance of retrospective checks should be ensured; stresses the importance of training operators to use the TRACES system;
