BelievesIs convinced that the IUU fishing is one of the most serious threats facingor the biodiversity of the world’s oceans, for the livelihoods of all law-abiding fishermen as well as for the general workability and effectiveness of management schemes such as the Common Fisheries Policy; therefore calls on the Commission and the Member States to increase their efforts to fight global IUU fishing;

Is alarmed at the use of such criminal activities as human trafficking, money laundering, corruption, handling of stolen goods, tax evasion and customs fraud by those engaged in IUU fishing, proving that a more comprehensive and integrated approach to the fight against IUU fishing should be explored;
