1922/06/09 - Zolder- Trained for the priesthood at Sint-Truiden and Liège. First university qualifacation in social sciences (labour studies) at the Higher Institute for Popular Culture (ISCO), Liège; licentiates in catechistic studies and political and social sciences, University of Louvain (French and Dutch sections). Priest at Grace-Berleur (Liège) 1947-1961. Chaplain to the Christian Workers' Movement (MOC) at Seraing (Liège) 1961-1969. Secretary of the Limburg Pastoral Council and Chairman of the Peace and Justice Committee 1969-1974. Priest and community worker at Genk 1974-1984, and Zwartberg.
- Member of Genk Municipal Council since 1982.
- Co-founder of World Schools, the Workers' University, the international Meeting Centre for Base Communities.
- Author of articles, books and a play.
