  • Studied at the Athens Conservatoire. Advanced studies in Paris with Nadia Boulanger and in New York with David Diamond and Leonard Bernstein. Conductor and composer. Artistic Director of State Orchestra of Hellenic Music (KOEM). Composer of numerous songs and music for the cinema and television. Also composer of music for ballet, theatre, 2 operas, 2 piano concertos, etc.
  • City of Athens councillor. deputy mayor for cultural affairs. Twice elected Member of Parliament for Athens but resigned owing to the political, intellectual and cultural stagnation in the country.
  • Awarded doctorate in Fine Arts by Adelphi University, New York (1994).
