CV/0	After completing his studies and obtaining a Masters in Economics in 1969, he began work as an assistant at the Warsaw School of Planning and Statistics. In 1973 he defended his doctoral thesis, and in 1978 qualified as assistant professor of Economics. Titular professor at the Warsaw School of Economics since 1990. Specialist in the field of macroeconomic policy, European integration, finance and international trade.
CV/1	Between 1970 and 1990, he completed a series of traineeships, both at home and abroad, including in France, England, the USA and Hungary.
CV/2	He worked as a consultant in the international banking division of Citibank, New York, USA from 1978 to 1979. He has on frequent occasions acted as expert to international organisations (UNIDO, World Bank, European Commission, International Labour Organisation).
CV/3	He was visiting professor to the University of Princeton (USA) from 1986 to 1987. Founder (1985) and first director of the Institute of World Economy at the Warsaw School of Economics.
CV/4	From 1988 to 1991, he was director of the Foreign Trade Research Institute (IKC HZ). From 1989 to 1992, he was a partner in the consultancy firm TKD - Ernst & Young Poland.

After completing his studies and obtaining a Masters in Economics in 1969, he began work as an assistant at the Warsaw School of Planning and Statistics. In 1973 he defended his doctoral thesis, and in 1978 qualified as assistant professor of Economics. Titular professor at the Warsaw School of Economics since 1990. Specialist in the field of macroeconomic policy, European integration, finance and international trade.
Between 1970 and 1990, he completed a series of traineeships, both at home and abroad, including in France, England, the USA and Hungary.
He worked as a consultant in the international banking division of Citibank, New York, USA from 1978 to 1979. He has on frequent occasions acted as expert to international organisations (UNIDO, World Bank, European Commission, International Labour Organisation).
He was visiting professor to the University of Princeton (USA) from 1986 to 1987. Founder (1985) and first director of the Institute of World Economy at the Warsaw School of Economics.
From 1988 to 1991, he was director of the Foreign Trade Research Institute (IKC HZ). From 1989 to 1992, he was a partner in the consultancy firm TKD - Ernst & Young Poland.
From 1991 to 1995, he worked on the European Economy Committee of the UN in Geneva (Switzerland) as head of section for Central and Eastern European countries.
He was Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Poland from December 1995 to October 1997. From 1998 to 2004 he was a member of the Monetary Policy Council.
